World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) Video competition

The purpose of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) is to help raise awareness of the possibilities that the use of the Internet and other information and communication technologies (ICT) can bring to societies and economies, as well as of ways to bridge the digital divide.

17 May marks the anniversary of the signing of the first International Telegraph Convention and the creation of the International Telecommunication Union.

The NTRC will be hosting a video competition to celebrate WTISD. The video competition will be conducted among the students within Primary & Secondary Schools throughout St. Vincent and Grenadines.  The competition will consist of two categories, one category for the Primary Schools and the other category for Secondary Schools.

All participants will be required to work individually to create a video reflecting the theme, “Empowering the least developed countries through information and communication technologies”.  The  video must not be longer than 60 seconds. 

The competition will be held from April 19- May 10, 2023.

 

How to enter?

All participants must submit the Video along with the following information to the WhatsApp number (784) 498-8292 OR email ntrc@ntrc.vc :

  • Name of Participant
  • Name of School

The following are the rules guiding the Competition.

 

  1. The video must be submitted during the period April 19- May 10, 2023.
  2. All entries must be submitted by 4:00pm on May 10, 2023. Late entries will not be accepted.
  3. There is no limit to the number of entries that one individual can submit.
  4. Participants must be able to clearly outline how their submitted entry relates to theme “Empowering the least developed countries through information and communication technologies”.
  5. Only students attending a primary school or secondary school in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are allowed to enter the competition.
  6. Winners will be selected by an internal committee at the NTRC.
