Ten teams headed to the Finals following iCode784 Robotics Preliminaries

The NTRC continues to inspire innovation and technological excellence among young people through its flagship iCode784 Competition, with the successful completion of both the Zone 1 and Zone 2 Robotics Category Preliminary Rounds.

The Zone 1 Preliminary Competition, held on October 13, 2026, brought together some of the brightest young innovators from secondary schools across St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The event provided students with an exciting platform to demonstrate their skills in robotics, programming, engineering design, and problem-solving.

A total of 11 teams competed in the Zone 1 preliminaries, where participants were challenged to design, program, and operate robots capable of completing a series of tasks while adhering to competition rules and time constraints. Throughout the competition, students showcased impressive technical abilities, creativity, teamwork, and resilience.

Following a highly competitive round of judging and evaluation, the following six teams secured their places in the iCode784 competition Finals:

  • Troumaca Secondary School
  • West St. George Secondary School
  • Union Island Secondary School
  • Georgetown Secondary School
  • St. Vincent Girls’ High School
  • Canouan Secondary School

The competition continued November 3, 2026, with the staging of the Zone 2 Preliminary Round at the Girl Guides Headquarters. Seven additional teams competed for the remaining 4 spots in the finals with the following teams advancing:

  • Troumaca Secondary School
  • West St. George Secondary School
  • Petit Bordel Secondary School
  • St. Martin’s Secondary School

The success of these teams reflects not only the dedication and hard work of the students, but also the ongoing commitment of teachers, parents, and school communities in supporting STEM education and innovation.

The NTRC congratulates all participating schools and students for their enthusiasm, dedication, and outstanding performances. We extend best wishes to all teams advancing to the finals as they continue their journey of innovation and excellence.
