iCode784 Competition- Six Teams Advance in Robotics Category Zone 1 Preliminary
The first zone of the NTRC’s iCode784 Competition- Robotics Category Preliminaries were successfully held on October 13, 2026, bringing together some of the brightest young innovators from secondary schools across St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The competition provided students with an exciting platform to demonstrate their skills in robotics, programming, engineering design, and problem-solving.
A total of 11 teams competed in the Zone 1 preliminaries. Students were challenged to design, program, and operate robots capable of completing a series of tasks while adhering to competition rules and time constraints. Throughout the event, participants displayed impressive technical abilities and resilience as they navigated the challenges of the competition.
Following a highly competitive round of judging and evaluation, six teams secured their places in the competition finals:
- Troumaca Secondary School
- West St. George Secondary School
- Union Island Secondary School
- Georgetown Secondary School
- St. Vincent Girls’ High School
- Canouan Secondary School
The success of these teams reflects not only the dedication of the students but also the commitment of their teachers and school communities in supporting STEM education and innovation.
The excitement continues with Zone 2 Preliminaries, scheduled for November 3, 2026, where an additional seven teams will have the opportunity to compete for the remaining spots in the finals.
The iCode784 Competition remains an important initiative for encouraging students to develop critical skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), preparing them for future opportunities in an increasingly technology-driven world. Congratulations to all participating teams and best wishes to the finalists as they prepare for the next stage of the competition.
