NTRC Celebrates Successful Completion of MyApp Summer Program in Mesopotamia
KINGSTOWN, ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES – On August 7, 2026, the NTRC concluded the second of its three (3) MyApp Summer Programs for the year with a closing ceremony at the Mountain View Adventist Academy School in Richland Park.
Eighteen eager students from various schools in St. Vincent participated in this session which began on Monday July 27, 2026, gaining hands-on experience in coding and robotics. Over the course of the session, students learned to code using the Micro:bit, a pocket-sized computer, and built their own robots, which they then programmed to perform specific tasks and complete challenges. The students also went on an educational field trip at the Argyle international Airport and the Vinlec Power Plant in Cane Hall where they were able to gain a greater appreciation of the role technology plays across different industries.
The Valedictorian of the program Zoran Shallow was gifted a laptop compliments FLOW and will be given the opportunity to participate in the NTRC’s icode784 Competition Robotics Category later in 2026.
The third and final session began at the St. Vincent Grammar School on Monday August 3, 2026, and will end on Friday August 14, 2026.
The NTRC extends its gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Innovation & Digital Transformation and Information, the Principal of Mountain View Adventist Academy- Mr. Gabriel Bowman and our sponsors: St. Vincent Port Authority, Flow, Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Vinlec, General Maritime Agencies, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Massy Stores Ltd, and Bonadies Supermarket #2 for making this program possible.
