Five Teams Face Off in First Round of Robotics Judging for the 2025 iCode784 Competition

KINGSTOWN, ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES – The National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) successfully hosted the first round of judging for the Robotics Category of the 2025 iCode784 Competition on July 29, 2025, featuring presentations from five secondary school teams in Zone 1. Participating schools included:

  • Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia (EHSM)
  • Mountain View Adventist Academy (MVAA)
  • Buccament Bay Secondary School (BBSS)
  • Thomas Saunders Secondary School (TSSS)
  • Georgetown Secondary School (GSS)

After a series of innovative and high-energy presentations, the judges selected three teams to advance to the Finals scheduled for October 22, 2025. The advancing schools are:

  • Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia (EHSM)
  • Mountain View Adventist Academy (MVAA)
  • Thomas Saunders Secondary School (TSSS)

This year, the Robotics Category was introduced as a new and exciting replacement for the previous Idea Category. The judging process has been split into two zones, with Zone 2 set to present on August 19, 2025, at the Girl Guides Headquarters. Nine (9) schools are slated to compete in this round:

  • Barrouallie Secondary School
  • Sandy Bay Secondary School
  • Union Island Secondary School
  • Bishops College Kingstown
  • Bethel High School
  • Vincent Grammar School
  • Martin’s Secondary School
  • Girls’ High School
  • Intermediate High School

Following the Zone 2 judging, seven additional teams will be selected to join the Zone 1 finalists in what promises to be a thrilling showdown in October.

The NTRC congratulates all participating schools in Zone 1 round for their dedication and creativity and extends best wishes to the Zone 2 teams as they prepare for their presentations.

The 12th annual iCode784 Competition continues to foster innovation and digital literacy among the nation’s youth. It remains a key initiative in promoting STEM education and practical ICT skills across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
